Thanks so much for the quick response Patricia! If I could just take a second to tell you how much your products have changed my life. Two years ago out of nowhere my forehead began to break out like crazy. Prior to that, I have always had very mild sporadic breakouts on my forehead and chin. Nothing major. After years of using Neutrogena products, I switched to ProActiv which seemed to help maintain my skin for about 3 years. Then in 2007, it all changed. The ProActiv stopped working and I had to visit a substitute dermatologist (my regular derm was booked for 6 months!). She prescribed Differen and Duac Gel. I had an allergic reaction to the Duac so she switched me to Benzaclin. My cleanser of choice at the time was Aveeno Daily Foaming Wash. It had worked so well in the past but started to fail me in that I noticed a super dry and tight feeling after cleansing twice a day. My skin went through a horrible healing crisis and then devastating hyper pigmentation (I have light/fair African-American skin).

Throughout this journey I began to read a lot and research about the ingredients that were in my skin-care products. Anna Bellina Acne products are truly transdermal. These problem skin care products go through the skin into the cellular level, and they can really impact the collagen. The majority of products on the market are not transdermal, and because of that they can't have an optimally serious effect. The skin is a protective organ, protecting you from everything including cosmetics and skin care. Products that cannot penetrate deep enough and can't get below the surface have little effect. The majority of skin problems happen at the collagen level. If you don't give support at that level, you don't really get any anti-aging effect.

Hello, I have purchased the O line, D Eye Serum, D Sunscreen, and Mineral Makeup from your company. I just wanted to say that the line is amazing. I have tried for 7 years to find a system that would work for me. I still get a couple blemishes here and there but I have only been using the product for about a month now. The blemishes don't last long and heal so much faster. I don't even get the purple marks on my face for more than a week or so now. Before I could have marks for as long as a year or more. The sunscreen is very nice and light and it works great over the hydrator to give me just the right amount of moisture. I LOVE the eye creme. It is amazing. I had super dark violet and blue circles beneath my eyes. I've had them for YEARS and have tried everything to rid myself of them. This cream has taken all the blue out already and has significantly lightened the violet to purple. The circles are still evident but not near as bad as what it was. I still have 2 more months to see the full potential of this product. AWESOME. The mineral make up is great. It is the only foundation I've ever gotten that truly matches my exact skin tone. The coverage is beautiful. I honestly haven't noticed a huge difference in adding the silk primer. I still have a shiny spot on my nose that is impossible to mattify. The silk setting spray is awesome. I find that if I forget to spray it on for a few days in a row, I start to break out. It's great.

Free Radical Damage

In a very simplified explanation, human beings are composed of specialized cells that each perform specific functions (i.e. skin cells, heart cells, muscle cells, etc). As we age these cells become more and more damaged. Eventually, the collective cells that make up organs can become so damaged that the organ fails to function, such as the loss of vision or hearing as people age. This process of damage and dysfunction of the vital organs eventually leads to death.

Benzoyl Peroxide produces free radicals, aging skin drastically! I will never ever purchase it, let alone us it in my skin care.

Most of this damage is caused by free radicals. Free radicals are minute chemical particles (atoms or groups of atoms) which are frequently the by-products of chemical processes. For example, when two chemicals join together to form another chemical, some particles are eliminated and these can be free radicals. Free radicals have at least one unpaired electron, causing the chemical particle to be unstable. To become stabilized, the particle must obtain an electron from some other chemical. By taking an electron from another chemical, the free radical becomes a stable chemical, but the other chemical now becomes a free radical and its chemical structure is changed. It must then steal an electron. Thus the chain reaction (of atoms stealing electrons) continues and can be thousands of events long.

Free radicals can steal an electron and break down another bio-molecule such as loose proteins, sugars, fatty acids, etc. that are NOT part of a larger chemical structure. In these cases the free radical does little damage. If a free radical steals an electron from one of the proteins that is contained in a strand of collagen (rather than a loose protein), it causes a change in the chemical structure of the collagen at that point and causes a break in the collagen strand. This is damage. Once a bundle of collagen has multiple points of damage, which occurs over years, the strand of collagen becomes dysfunctional and loses its elastic quality. The skin begins to sag. Over time, free radical damage happens to the various components of the body and this damage is progressive.

Free radicals chip away at cell walls, molecule by molecule, making holes. The cells leak and lose their chemical balances. Subsequent free radicals are able to chip away at DNA, making cells dysfunctional. If this damage affects cellular DNA, the cell may malfunction. This is what happens cell by cell over the lifetime of a human being, ultimately causing entire organs to malfunction. If the DNA of basal keratinocytes, for example, are damaged the cells may become dysfunctional and the basal cells will reproduce cells that are equally as damaged and dysfunctional, resulting in the aging and dysfunction of the skin and its various components. Aging is simply the progression of damage, caused by free radicals.

The functions of FGFs in a healing skin wound. Upon lesions, dermal fibroblasts (violet) and T cells (red) secrete FGF-7 and FGF-10; suprabasal keratinocytes (green) express FGF-22. In a paracrine (blue and red arrows) or autocrine manner (green arrow), respectively, they activate keratinocytes at the wound edge and stimulate reepithelialization. In addition, they induce the expression of cytoprotective genes in keratinocytes, including the gene that encodes the Nrf2 transcription factor. Nrf2 then regulates the expression of proteins involved in the detoxification of ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species). The latter are produced in large amounts by neutrophils and macrophages as a defense against invading bacteria.

Benzoyl Peroxide is an example of topically applied free radicals. People who have treated chronic acne with benzoyl peroxide frequently learn too late that they have severely aged their skin well beyond its chronological age and may have increased their potential of skin cancer.

DRY ACNE DRY ROSACEA SKIN ANALYSIS

Pores: may be clogged/enlarged.
Texture: almost normal appearance without shine, but can feel dry to the touch, even rough.
Sebaceous Activity: fairly normal sebum (oil production) in dry acne and dry rosacea skins.
Visual Analysis: face seems to be dehydrated or tight feeling. Tendency to have blemishes in chin and jawline hormonal region, face may or may not have blemishes and regular breakouts. May experience minor breakouts related to a "big night out", hormones, or stress, may experience cystic breakouts relating to hormonal cycle.

OILY ACNE OILY ROSACEA SKIN ANALYSIS
