Our facial exfoliators ~ especially the N Exfoliator which is our Home Microdermabrasion Cream ~ help remove the dead skin cell layer that can cloud the complexion. The N Exfoliator can be used for a serious manual home exfoliating treatment for acneic skins.

Exfoliation stimulates cellular regeneration. As clogged pores loosen and enlarged pores are reduced, the appearance of breakouts and acne can be minimized. The grains polish and refine skin allowing for micro-precise removal of unwanted dead skin cells. By removing this unwanted lining, it lifts the weight on the facial skin, which can cause skin to sag and droop which in turn causes excess wrinkles. Exfoliators are concentrated products designed to go one step further than traditional OTC facial scrubs.

Analogy: we want a thin layer of dead skin cells and a thick layer of live skin cells. Like shingles on a house top, we are striving for a single layer of new smooth pliable shingles with uniform color, not a few layers of old dried shingles that are rough and discolored.

Different ingredients in our scrubs exfoliate skin by gently massaging and polishing the skin free of impacted pore plugs, blackheads, and spent cells. Dead skin cells can dull the complexion and when removed, skin gains a livley appearance with a healthy pink glow. Microcirculation is increased and fine lines and wrinkles can be smoothed with a lightening of skin discolorations (red marks left behind from acne breakouts and age spots) on the outermost layers of skin. Good for all skin types.

This manual microdermabrasion technique can reduce acne scarring significantly, if used regularly for several weeks or longer. Some very deep ice pick scars may not respond, or respond well. Those are best treated by a dermatologist or medical esthetician.

Directions
Note: the degree of exfoliation is controlled by the amount of water and length of time, NOT pressure!
Using only your fingertips, dot onto cleansed barely damp skin and gently spread over face and lips with fingertips, avoiding the delicate eye area. Wet fingertips and perform small dime size circular motions, going first in one direction and then the other, rotate 5-20 times. The amount of water used and the length of time control the degree of exfoliation. Polishing the very surface of the skin is all that is needed. Let the crystals do the work, skin should not move significatnly underneath your fingertips... picture a feather that constantly moves back and forth, wearing away unwanted tissue. Please wear a daily sunscreen if performing a serious home microderm treatement as the protective layer is removed.
