We recommend using our products twice a day - every morning and evening. The evening regimen is best performed between 9 and 11 pm.
No, you do not have to use every product in the 4 step/8 product regimen. This may be one of the easiest skin care regimens you have ever used. After cleansing, simply apply a moisturizer for the most basic care. Other products are available for either an intermediate or comprehensive skin care regimen. The choice is yours.
Although this occurs infrequently, your skin may go through a detox phase in which toxins are flushed out and brought to the skin's surface. This may result in a few blemishes or redness, especially for acneic skins. Usually detox occurs within the first few weeks of using Anna Bellina products and then skin clears. This is part of the natural process of restoring your skin to optimal health. To assist you during this time, we recommend consistent use of the Oily Skin Serum (DermaClear Serum) on the reactive areas.
All of our products have a minimum shelf life of six months and they do not require refrigeration. However, we recommend that they be kept out of direct sunlight and away from sustained heat.
All of our moisturizers have the option of containing natural sunscreen protection. There is still controversy over the oxides being used as sunscreen ingredients so we offer our only sunscreen product with the choice to use or not to use being left up to the individual. I watched as pieces of my Dad's face were removed bit by bit over the years due to skin cancer. That scared me more than any ingredient we use.
Yes, beautiful aromas! Anna Bellina does not use any potentially irritating synthetic fragrance oils. The scent of each Anna Bellina product varies according to the essential oils, hydrosols and other natural ingredients that it contains. Because of this, some products will have a richer scent than others. An important point about Anna Bellina products - we use only "active" ingredients. In other words, we do not add ingredients just to provide fragrance, color, density, fillers, etc. Every ingredient will benefit your skin.
Typically, our products work well for people with sensitive skin because we use no artificial preservatives, coloring or additives of any kind - only 100% pure ingredients. We do offer an ultra-sensitive line of only organic ingredients, the Basics Skin Care Essentials.
Anna Bellina has many customers with rosacea or rosacea-type conditions who are effectively using Anna Bellina products. The high level of essential oils in Anna Bellina products nourish the skin, supporting optimum skin health. Because of its nutritive value, we recommend using the Oily Skin care line (DermaClear) as part of your daily program.
Products in the Dry Aging Skin care line are blended with essential oils to nourish the skin on a cellular level, as well as providing preventative age defense. Specifically on a daily basis, the ingredients are especially regenerating for age spots. Additionally, the use of an exfoliant three to four times per week will encourage radiant, youthful skin.
The proportion of essential oils used in our products is within the limits that are considered safe during pregnancy. As always, please check with your doctor before testing or using.
First, traditional over the counter (OTC) products begin with water, which can make up the majority of a product's formula. This means a diluted formula and very expensive water. Second, those products usually contain an artificial blend of fillers-thickeners-emulsifiers-binders to make the product "pretty", but which do absolutely nothing for your skin. In fact, many sensitive skins will react to that artificial blend. Third, those products end with chemical preservatives which are very questionable as to their safety. We use none of those in any of our products.

Exfoliating your skin removes dead and flaking skin cells from the top layer of your skin so that your pores are kept unclogged. Without exfoliating, dead skin cells can clog your pores and prevent your skin from properly absorbing moisturizing and nourishing skin care products. A heavy spent layer can also weigh down skin causing a sagging tone. A thick enough layer can cause a dull and sallow complexion without a healthy glow.
We recommend exfoliating every morning with the Dry Exfoliator, which is a buffered daily exfoliation system. Our other exfoliants should be used thrice weekly, depending on your skin.
Due to the exfoliating meal in the Dry Cleanser (PS Cleanser), We recommend using the Normal Cleanser (Honey Cleanser) instead to gently cleanse the delicate eye area. Because the skin around your eyes is very fragile, it is important to treat this thin skin very gently. The Normal Cleanser (Honey Cleanser) with its aloe vera base and special essential oil blend will protect and nourish this area.
Yes. One of the most important aspects of a cleanser is maintaining your skin's natural pH balance without stripping away the natural oils or lipids that are necessary to keep your skin healthy and supple. When Normal Cleanser (Honey Cleanser) is used in conjunction with products in the recommended skin care regimen, balance is the key. Dry skin becomes less dry and oily skin becomes less oily - thus, all skin types become more normalized.
16. Will the Exfoliating products cause micro-tears in my skin?
No. Anna Bellina uses jojoba wax beads, microdermabrasion crystals, and apricot meal as the exfoliating ingredients. These are spherical in nature and thus do not have sharp or harsh edges, yet they are very effective in removing dead skin cells. It is also important to use very little pressure while exfoliating.
17. What is the All Skin care line exfoliating system?
This nutrient rich buffered daily exfoliation system deeply penetrates with an abundance of ingredients that hydrate, balance, and regenerate collagen, protect against free radical damage, and reduce inflammation to give your skin optimal health. Select essential oils stimulate cell turnover and encourage regeneration of the skin. The clay treatment purifies the skin through a detoxing effect by pulling impurities out of the pores. It also minimizes large pores, leaving the epidermis smooth and refined, creating a clear bright complexion. It contains natural earth clays for deep cleansing and healing. This is a non-drying treatment and is good for all skin types. This is Anna Bellina's premium age defense treatment, and we highly recommend it.
18. What is the purpose of the All Skin care line (Radiant Reflection) moisturizing system?
Rare skin oils deeply penetrate with an abundance of ingredients that hydrate, balance, and regenerate collagen, protect against free radical damage, and reduce inflammation to give your skin optimal health. Select essential oils stimulate cell turnover and encourage regeneration of the skin. This skin care line is formulated without cosmeceuticals.
We recommend treating with the eye creams and serums twice a day, exfoliating thrice weekly unless using the Pack 3 daily, refining with the mask thrice weekly, and nourishing with the toner as frequently as you like (typically 2 - 4 times per day, depending on the condition of your skin).

Deep pore cleansing and hydration are a crucial part of our skin care regimen. When you tone, you are removing cleanser residue and loosened pore debris. When you mist, you are hydrating and nourishing your skin with a rich supply of nutrients that help balance skin.
Use enough mist to lightly saturate your skin but not enough for the toner to run. Mist even over makeup. You may also use the mist throughout the day to refresh and hydrate your skin, especially in very dry climates or environments such as air travel.

Yes, the Dry Skin care line does contain alpha hydroxy acid. We use the gentler lactic acid or milk acid that even sensitive skins can tolerate. And which do not cause long term use damage to the skin.
Yes, you may use the Dry Serum (PS Serum) as an anti-oxidant anti-aging serum and spot treat with another serum.
Yes. These are two entirely different products. You should use a hydrator and/or moisturizer after serums, especially dryer skins, to seal in hydration and protect skin from the environment.
This serum is not diluted with water making it vital to the health of your skin because of the exceptionally high level of active anti-aging ingredients, as well as anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals. These exceptional ingredients are charged and fermented allowing bio-active ingredients to be bio-compatible and bio-available. It also has a very high level of essential oils. Because of their molecular structure, essential oils create a very unique and extremely effective delivery system for transporting life-sustaining nutrients and oxygen directly into the cells for immediate results.

Dry Moisturizer (PS Creme) contains exquisite oils, butters, and expensive essential oils, such as frankincense, myrrh, and Bulgarian rose. These ingredients are very effective in reducing signs of aging and protecting the skin against a harsh environment. Specifically, the Bulgarian rose oils are two of the most effective skin rejuvenators, regenerating new healthy skin cells.
The A Moisturizer (Radiant Reflections Elixir) is very effective for dry skin. However, in extreme cases and for very dry skin, we recommend using the D Moisturizer (PS Creme) supplemented with a few drops of the D Hydrator (PS Silk) first to add hydrate tissues. In addition, the D Moisturizer contains anti-aging cosmeceuticals which the A line does not have.
Because the skin around your eyes is the thinnest and most fragile of the entire body, we recommend using an eye serum specifically formulated for this fragile area. A facial moisturizer may be too rich and heavy, so use very sparingly if you do use. Watch to see if it is causing puffiness or weighing down the delicate eye tissue with a sagging appearance. The eye serums are formulated to be a light, easily absorbed yet hydrating treatment with ingredients that address puffiness and dark circles. They will firm and nourish the eye area - light enough to wear under eye makeup yet moisturizing enough for night-time use as well.

The O Skin care line (DermaClear). This regimen should be used daily, morning and evening. In addition to the twice daily regimen, there are thrice weekly treatments that will greatly improve the health of your skin - the DermaScrub and DermaMask.
30. Will the O Serum (DermaClear) help with cyst-type acne?
Cyst-type acne is usually systemic or hormonal in nature. The Oily skin care line, in particular the O Serum (DermaClear), contains high levels of essential oils that will help balance the hormones. Acne is normally best treated with a whole body program that includes nutrition, colon cleansing, as well as aromatherapy-based skin care. For topical support, we recommend using the O Serum (DermaClear Serum) to spot treat blemishes.
31. When using DermaClear, how long will it take before I see results?
Results will vary depending on the condition of your skin. However, most people, following the complete program, see noticeable results within two weeks.
In addition to the daily regimen appropriate for your skin type, we strongly recommend exfoliating to keep your pores open and unclogged, free of dead skin, as well as using toner on cotton after each cleansing to deep cleanse pores of cleanser residue and loosened pore debris. The O Hydrator is formulated for blackheads.

Essentials Oils are basically a plant's immune system in concentrated liquid form, which in turns boosts your immune system to speed healing.
Yes. We almost exclusively use a supplier who is certified organic by Oregon Tilth. 95% of our ingredients are certified organic. All of our ingredients are grown by certified organic farmers, gathered by ecological wild-crafters, or harvested from pesticide-free farms.
No animal testing of any kind is performed by Anna Bellina. This policy also extends to our suppliers as well. We do use Emu Oil, Silk and Bee byproducts for their exceptional healing properties. Check each ingredient list to determine if that product contains any of these animal byproducts.
Anna Bellina products do not contain artificial or chemical preservatives such as the questionable Parabens. We use a blend of glucose, glucose oxidase, lactoperoxidase (similar to Burt's Bees), black willow bark, neem oil, rosemary oleoresin, vitamin E and select essential oils to preserve our products in a completely natural way. These types of ingredients have natural preserving qualities as well as beneficial anti-oxidant properties.
No. High heat destroys valuable nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and live plant energy. We use only cold processing or low temperatures, if any, that preserve the nutritional qualities. We hand smash and hand blend everything, this is why our products are so time-consuming and labor-intensive, and one of the reasons they're more expensive than OTCs.
Yes. We do not use high heat, artificial fillers-binders-emulsifiers, or commercial filtering so our products will not look, act, or feel like diluted OTC products which are full of all that synthetic junk.

No. Many ingredients come from locations with extreme weather. Only storing products for longer than a week in temperatures in excess of 85 F will start to affect the ingredients. Then about 3 months is removed from the total shelf life with slow degradation.
