Product AdvisorQuestion -
What's the difference between the hydrator and moisturizer, do I have to use both?
Answer -
Hydrators add water moisture to the skin while Moisturizers trap and hold that water content, sealing it in the skin with a breathable barrier, and add oil or lubrication to the skin. Hydration replenishes lost water moisture due to TEWL (transepidermal water loss) or evaporation, free radical stress and allows proper cell function. Moisturizers are more emollient, creating lubrication and suppleness in your skin while protecting it from the environment. Some very oily skins, skins which contain enough natural oils, may use only the hydrator as their moisturizer.
Question -
Can I use the serum as a moisturizer? And do I have to use both?
Answer -
A Serum is a correcting treatment. A Moisturizer seals in hydration and lubricates the skin. Two totally different products. However, some oily skins and skins in humid climates may find using only the serum sufficient.
