Q: Which products do you recommend for my skin? I'm confused which type my skin is. My skin has this condition... Please see our
Product Advisor.
1. Q: How do I place on order on your website?First, select all the items you wish to purchase. Then go to the Shopping Cart. The link is located in the upper right corner of each page. Click on Checkout. Fill in your name and address. Select a shipping method and click on apply. Then click on Continue. Select a payment method and enter your payment information. Enter your email address. Read our store Policies and indicate that you agree to abide by those policies. Then click on Continue. Review your order to make sure all information is correct. Then click on either Cancel or Place Order to submit your order to Anna Bellina Inc.
2. Q: Don't your samples seem rather expensive? I just got a handful of Avon samples for free.Firstly, you are comparing apples to oranges. Other brands are water and chemicals with a wee bit of actives. Anna Bellina is actives, period. Huge difference. Secondly, a machine fills a competitor's foil pouches with just a dollop of product. We hand blend, hand fill, hand label, and hand seal each individual sample, and ours contain more than just a dollop. Thirdly, many small skin care companies don't even offer samples. Fourthly, unfortunately we have customers who abuse this privilege and reorder the same sample over and over to avoid paying full price. Lastly, our Sampling Program guarantees our customers will not have a full size investment only to have an allergic reaction. Did you ever wonder what those other companies do with all their returned full size product? Do you really think they throw them out - a $570 bottle of serum ?!
3. Q: I have very odd skin and was wondering if you could recommend me a skincare routine. Though I suffer from breakouts and have some blackheads, my skin ALWAYS feels dry and tight after I wash it. Though my skin looks flaky and feels dry, it appears oily. Then when I finally wash off my cosmetics, I look in the mirror to be disgusted
with a few new blemishes and my pores look clogged. You do not have
odd skin, you have extremely common
dehydrated skin!
The #1 skin condition is dehydrated skin. And it sounds like yours has been severely dehydrated from harsh detergents in OTC cleansers, perhaps even alcohol which has totally stripped the lipid barrier. I bet you do not tone after cleansing with toner on cotton ?? or mist throughout the day to add crucial hydration ?? Your skin does not have proper cell function therefore cannot exfoliate and purge naturally on it's own so the pore plugs are dried and impacted. Your poor skin is stripped of it's natural lipid barrier so is pumping out extra oil trying to bring it back into balance. But the oil is sitting on top of parched tissues that cannot absorb moisture. Drink a 3/4 of a gallon of filtered water a day, no caffeinated drinks or sugar, use toner damp cotton pads after each cleansing, exfoliate and mask 3+ times a week, use the acne products I recommended and all of this should help get your skin back in a healthy state so it can start to function like a normal organ again. Please read "Why Use a Toner" and "Proper Product Application" to learn the whys and wherefores. And, sometimes skin looks worse before it gets better ~ healing crisis ~ so please be patient.
4. Q: What do you think of this skin care line at www.blahblahblah.com and this particular product they have called...? Do you think it would be good for me...?I decline to comment on other brands or products as I am not familiar with them and do not use them. I will say however, be careful of: any company that does not disclose their complete ingredients, any product that begins with water, any product with ingredients you cannot pronounce, any product that ends with parabens.
5a. Q: What's the difference between the two moisturizers, the hydrator and regular creamy one? And do I have to use both?Hydrators add
water moisture to the skin while
Moisturizers trap and hold that water content, sealing it in the skin with a breathable barrier, and add
oil or lubrication to the skin. Hydration replenishes lost water moisture due to TEWL (transepidermal water loss) or evaporation, free radical stress and allows proper cell function. Moisturizers are more emollient, creating lubrication and suppleness in your skin while protecting it from the environment. Some very oily skins, skins which contain enough natural oils, may use only the hydrator as their moisturizer.
5b. Q: Can I use the serum as a moisturizer? And do I have to use both?A Serum is a
correcting treatment for anti-aging firming, smoothing expression line, treating acne, unpuffing eyes, etc. A Moisturizer seals in hydration and lubricates the skin. Two totally different products. However, some combination to oily skins, skins which contain enough natural oils, may find using only the serum sufficient and skin feels fine.
6. Q: I don't have blemishes all the time like serious acne so can the location where my break outs appear indicate something?* Little pustules on the forehead ~ Small intestine, constipation
* Blind pustules on the temples ~ Liver, gall bladder, toxin storage (vitamin overdose)
* Puffiness under the eyes ~ Kidneys, bladder problem
* Blemishes on the cheeks ~ Stomach, digestive problem
* Flaking by the side of nose ~ Large intestine, bowel problems
* Sagging skin on underneath cheeks ~ Lungs, oxygenation of skin
* Pustules and flaking on chin ~ Gynecological areas, hormonal imbalance
* Blind pustules underside of the chin ~ Large intestine, toxin storage (bowel/diet).
7. Q: I have tried everything to remove the little bumps on the back of my arms, HELP!Keratosis Pilaris (KP) is a coomon skin condition that shows up on the skin as rough bumps around hair follicles on the back and outer side of the upper arms. Slow natural exfoliation and dry skin contribute to the condition. KP is an extremely common condition that can be cosmetically troubling but is generally not harmful in a medical sense.
It is estimated to affect roughly half of the world’s over-all populace. The inheritance pattern of KP is dominant. This means that only one copy of the KP gene is required to result in a person developing this condition. The practical implications of this are that if one parent has KP, the chance of the couple’s child having KP is over 50%. If both parents have the condition then the odds are even higher. Bathing with a nylon sponge and gently rubbing the area will also help some skins. Exfoliating with the Crystal Cream may help others. Try our Bliss Elixir which contains lactic acid to provide a stronger exfoliation treatment and great skin oils for deep moisturization.
8. Q: My chin and the left side of my face always have bumps but I don't have acne, or at least I don't think it's acne. The bumps don't look like regular pimples.Do you let toothpaste foam get on your chin? Many skins react to the chemicals in OTC toothpastes. Do you sleep on your left side...or wake up on that side? Try sleeping on your back and use a fresh pillow case each night. Skin must be able to breathe in order to function properly. Pillow cases are collectors of excess oil, skin care products, and dead skin cells that you are grinding back into your skin.
9. Q: Is it possible to have the firming serum and the dermaclear serum in one? I know you gave me the dermaclear serum in my sample order because of my rosacea, but I would love the firming benefits. Many skins have adult acne with the beginnings of aging skin showing too. Use the DermaClear or O Serum to spot treat the problem areas then area treat with the Firming Serum or N Serum to help slow the loss of elasticity.
10. Q: I was wondering if you could explain more of why you use DMAE in your products. DMAE is a naturally occurring substance in the brain and you can't buy it which means it is a synthetic - a chemical copy. So if this is true, this would make some of your products not ‘all natural’, is this correct? Not quite, the Anna Bellina line does contain my version of Dr. Nicolas Perricone’s cosmeceuticals, DMAE being one of them. Most companies use the form synthesized in a lab and not supplied by nature. DMAE gives such optimum results in firming skin that many woman opt to have it in their skin care products, myself being one of them. However, our DMAE is derived from fish oil:
"Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) is similar to choline, a chemical involved in the processes of learning and memory. It has been known to be beneficial for people with autism, memory deficiency, and dementia. Topically DMAE can help with muscle tone. DMAE-H3 is a concentrated solution of the PABA (para aminobenzoic acid) salt of DMAE stabilized with benzoic acid. DMAE by itself is alkaline and caustic. Therefore, only salts and esters of DMAE are used. DMAE naturally occurs as liquid in its concentrated form. DMAE naturally occurs in fish."
11. Q: I still have some of my seaweed mask left, but I want to place a full-size mask order soon. My question is...which one should I get? I have "recovering" oily skin, which is also acne prone. I'm still trying to keep the outbreaks at bay, but also get rid of some of my clogged pores that just don't want to give up the ghost. The DermaMask or O Mask will help purge pores and smooth out the combination skin. The Seaweed Mask or N Mask would be very good to help purify tissues while firming skin, especially the eyelids. This is a very healing and firming mask rich with seaweed, spirulina, and chlorella which will help detoxify your skin.
12. Q: My skin in acne-prone & oily so I placed an order the other day and purchased samples of the cleanser, toner for oily skin, eye cream and a few serums (DermaClear being one of them). I did not order either of the moisturizers but was wondering if I should have or does the DermaClear serum act as a moisturizer?Serums are not moisturizers, these are two entirely different products intended for two entirely different uses. See
Serums and
Moisturizers for explanations. There is the DermaGel or O Hydrator which is a good lightweight hydrator which can be used as a moisturizer for very oily skins and oily skins in hot humid climates. Then if your skin needs more moisturizing, there is the DermaLotion or O Lotion to add more lubrication. Also, since the serums can get expensive, many like to use sparingly and spot treat only to make the serums last longer. The choice is yours.
13. Q: What are the most damaging things to avoid so I can prolong a young and healthy skin?Avoid SMUT or the 4 Ss: Sun Smoke Sugar Stress!
